• First Steering Committee Meeting in 2021

On 27 January 2021, the Steering Committee met online to take stock of the programs and activities in 2020, analyze political developments in Mongolia, Myanmar, and Nepal, hear organizational updates from the Progressive Alliance and direct the network agenda and activities for 2021.

The Steering Committee decided on 2 (two) statements. First is on the political situation in Myanmar and the second is our congratulatory message to the new Mongolian Prime Minister, His Excellency Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai, from the Mongolian People’s Party on his appointment.

A progressive and democratic new normal must be pushed to ensure that the world does not fall into worse crises and prevent authoritarianism and populist rule. SocDem Asia and the Progressive Alliance held an online global conference last December 18, 2020 to consolidate progressive responses and strategies for strategic pathways with which we can collectively build a better world.
