Lo siguiente corresponde a la Portavoz Tammy Bruce: El Secretario de Estado Marco Rubio conversó hoy con el Presidente Luis Abinader de la República Dominicana para expresar sus más sinceras condolencias tras el derrumbe del techo del club nocturno Jet Set en Santo Domingo. El trágico incidente causó una pérdida significativa de vidas, incluyendo la de varios ciudadanos estadounidenses. Acompañamos en el sentimiento a sus familias y a nuestros amigos dominicanos que perdieron a sus seres queridos. El Secretario Rubio ofreció sus más sinceras condolencias en nombre del p
ueblo estadounidense y resaltó la solidaridad de Estados Unidos con el pueblo dominicano en estos momentos difíciles. Elogió la rápida respuesta de las autoridades y el personal de emergencia de la República Dominicana y destacó la vital asistencia brindada por la Gobernadora de Puerto Rico, Jenniffer González Colón, y el Departamento de Bomberos de Puerto Rico. El Secretario Rubio y el Presidente Abinader reafirmaron la fortaleza de la relación entre Estados Unidos y la República Dominicana y los lazos duraderos que unen a nuestros pueblos.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with President Luis Abinader of the Dominican Republic today to express his deepest condolences following the roof collapse at Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo.  The tragic incident resulted in a significant loss of life, including several U.S. citizens.  Our hearts go out to their families and to our Dominican friends who lost loved ones.

Secretary Rubio offered heartfelt sympathies on behalf of the American people and underscored the United States’ solidarity with the people of the Dominican Republic during this difficult time.  He commended the swift response of Dominican Republic authorities and emergency personnel and highlighted the vital assistance provided by the Governor of Puerto Rico Jenniffer González Colón and the Puerto Rico Fire Department.

Secretary Rubio and President Abinader reaffirmed the strength of the U.S.-Dominican Republic relationship and the enduring ties that bind our peoples
